On Capitalizing “White”

From Nell Irvin Painter to Ibram X Kendi and the National Association of Black Journalists, leading Black thinkers have recently argued for capitalizing “White”. Others, such as Jenn M. Jackson, have argued against it. Some media outlets, such as the Washington Post, have embraced the capitalization, while others such as the New York Times and Associated Press have not.
