The Ideas We Need is Cross Cultural Solidarity’s newest monthly discussion group, where we reflect on the ideas that can help guide us through these authoritarian times. Each month we’ll choose a couple ideas to explore – for example, diving deeper into the ideas for resistance such as the 3.5% rule or democratic consolidation, or ideas for understanding authoritarianism, such as autocratic backfire or the imperial boomerang. Even if we’re familiar with certain ideas already, discussing them can help us further digest them, bring them more deeply into our vocabulary, and help them inform the actions we take.
At each meeting, we’ll also check in about what’s been on our hearts and minds each month, regarding these times, and our activism. The Ideas We Need offers a simple, accessible way to build community each month, and to gain clarity and inspiration. Conversations are facilitated by CCS founder Lynn Burnett.
How to plug in: Each month’s discussion is announced in CCS’s newsletter, which can be received by joining Cross Cultural Solidarty’s Patreon.
